Time to say Good Bye!

Hi Ladies and Gentleman, just wanted to briefly inform you, that this is going to be the last Post here on the NOKIAN Blog. Some of you might noticed that i haven't updated my Blog for the last few Weeks.

I decided to close the Ports of the Blog, i started to be active again on the Place i called my former (Symbian-)Home, back to the Site, where it all started for me. The People teached me, supported me and stood right behind me and it just feels so good to be back again - back on www.symbian-freak.com.

I changed my Username from "BeerBong" back to "Michael™", i wanted to get rid of that Username finally, so if you like, jump over to the Forum Section and say Hi! ;)

Last but not least thanks a Lot to WOM World, Teo, Ricky Cadden, Darla Mack, Stephan Constantinescu, Jay Montano, Anssi Hautabacka, Rita El Khoury, Steve Litchfield, Tarek, all my fellow Bloggers and of course to all my Readers, for inspiring me and for reading and supporting my tiny little Blog!

HUGE N82 Review on Symbian Freak

One of my best Friends i met in this whole Symbian Scene from around the World has definitely been Marty Britton. Marty is also known as Marty3 at Symbian Freak, one of the most relaxed and talented Guys i have seen in a long Time! His Invitation to Nokia World 2007 gave Marty the Attention he needed .. And WOM World gave him a N82 to play around with .. ;) The Result of this is a HUGE 7 Page Review, going through EVERY Detail of this Device.

He thinks, the N82 is not the perfect Phone, as everyone has his own different Styles and Tastes, he also discovered some Downsides, like a very bad D-Pad, but he's sure most of the Problems and Bugs are gonna be improved with Future Firmware Updates. He also calls the N82 definitely the Nokia Photography Flagship, giving some nice Comparison Pictures with the Nokia N95. But overall you can feel that Marty has become good Friends with the Device, using it to the Fullest and he loves it! Looking at the Pictures i can tell, that the N82 does indeed better Shots, especially in poor Light Conditions, the Xenon Flash does an awesome Job, it seems like poor Light Macros with white "Flash Spots" are over .. :)

Clone Stupidity continues.. This Time scary!

Jesus .. Those chinese Phone Clones are getting better and better (from the Outside) and now a Friend of Symbian Freak Member Waynder actually got tricked by one of those Clone Manufacturers, and i still can't believe this .. He found a Deal from a local Advertising Paper and received this nearly exact Look-a-Like .. Which shortly after turned out to be the worst 220 €-Deal ever!! No GPS, VGA Cam only, Russian Symbols? ..

Bad Things on the N95 8GB?

Yeah i didn't believe it either, but the N95 8GB has some Downsides as well .. They are not much, but they are here and you will recognize them unfortunately. It will be a short Post, i promise that, but since i am a critical Person as well, i have to mention this Things as well!

New E90 Design!?

emTube 1.04 is available!!

I've been searching for a long Time, for a nice Possibility to access and watch Youtube Videos. Youtube has been my favourite Spare Time Killer for some Time now, so i thought, why not watch it on my Phone too?

Alright, so i did some Research on the www, and i think i found one of the best Applications so far, called emTube! emTube, who's Founder Sebastian Jedruszkiewicz, just introduced the new Version 1.04 including some Bugfixes, new Italian Language, flv Recognizer etc ..

So what can you else do with this feature-rich Killer-Application!? Read on ..

The new Multimedia Menu ROCKS!

One of the Things i was most excited about, when i received my lovely N95 8GB for trialing, was the new Multimedia Menu! And it did NOT disappoint me. I did some Research already before, it looked so promising, i couldn't wait to try it out ..

It's already funny and really usefull on the N95 8GB, i'd really like to see it on that Navi-Wheel on the N81, must be great to use ..
So you're curious, what you are capable to do with the new MM? Read on! 

Nokia N96!? Rumor or more!?

I just discovered something great on Mobile Review Forums .. I'm not sure yet, what to think about it, but could it be, that Nokia is working on a N81 Successor? It's called Nokia N96 and looks a bit too promising to be a Fake? .. Decide for yourself ..

From what i can see, the N96 could be a possible N81 Successor, with sports a N95-like Dual-Slider System. But my first Question is: What do we need this Dual Slider for, the Music Buttons are already in the Joypad? Could this be Signs for another dedicated Gaming Device?
The Camera seems to be a 5 MP Autofocus Camera, powered by Carl. But as you can see from the Pictures above, no Xenon, Dual LED Flash only. My Friend Teo from the Symbian Freak Forums stated, that he believes in a High-Resolution Screen, VGA maybe, but i truly doubt that? Some other Questions that come in my Mind with every Spy-Shot: What about the Battery? HSDPA? GPS? And, just like in Case of N95 and Nokia N95 8GB,  why didn't Nokia skip the N81 and give us that one already?

Once again, this is all just Rumors, but some very realistic Ones, so i hope we get some Confirmation quickly, it looks like a nice Phone ..

Me and the N95 8GB are still alive!!

It took me some Time to use the N95 8GB, i got it with Scandinavian FW-Pack unfortunately, and it seems like the NSU doesn't support re-flashing with different Product Codes .. What a Shame! :( Anyway, my good Friend flashed it to EURO 1, which supports my Native Language German, and opened my Door to some Days of pure Joy and Happiness!

The Nokia N95 8GB is the Phone, i was most excited off. From the early Rumors and so called Spy-Shots to the final Confirmation through FCC, i had Goosebumps whenever i saw this Beauty. And my Friends from WOM World (happy X-Mas Guys!) made me an early Christmas Present, with giving me a Trial Device - i was one happy Guy! :-D

With all that great Stuff i'm sure, that giving back the N95 8GB will cost me some Tears. To make it short, this black Beauty has cleared all my Concerns and Problems with the Classic Device, which i own too - i won't call the 8GB Version the perfect Phone BUT it's close, it's really close!

This Post is supposed to be a "Hey i'm not in Hawaii with your 900 Euro Phone", just to let you know that me and the Device is still alive, and after i finally got the German Language on it, i'm gonna work on a Lot of Articles, which i have in Mind, plus a nice little Picture Collection etc etc .. Everyday i work with this Beauty it's just pure Pleasure, i can tell you that .. And if you're not jealous already, you better start to be so, cause this Thing is a true Monster ;)

2007 has been an awesome Year and it kicked off with that awesome Trip to Las Vegas, CES with WOM World and the awesome Group of People like Darla, Reggie, Anssi, Rafe, Jay, Travis, etc which really gave me an unbelievable Boost in the Nokia/Symbian Scene, and by the Way, lowered my Spare Time to Zero LOL ..

March was probably the most horrible Month ever, when my (Ex-)Girlfriend Ines and i decided to split up - which wasn't easy for me to deal with. 1 1/2 Years of what i call, the perfect Relationship. We shared everything, same Interests, same Music and Clothing Styles, same Movie Likes  .. It took me 8 Months to stop thinking about her every Time. I wouldn't wish this Kind of Feeling to my worst Enemy, really. I renewed the Contact with her, we talk from Time to Time, it's still a bit weird Feeling, but i'm over it and i'm happy to see that she's doing fine as well!

May was a new Chapter - I decided to kick off this Blog - The NOKIAN (NOKia-symbIAN) Blog. Finally - welcome to the NOKIAN Blog was the first Post and marked a long Road .. Although i had some Breaks in between due to different Reasons, I think i made a good Start and i surely won't stop here. I will continue working on my Blog in 2008, more regularly cause i really hate to do 1 Post per Week only .. :(

November 2007 marked a new Start in my Love Life .. And i'm happy to say that i have someone who takes Care of me. After some real big Downsides, i'm happy that i share my Days with a really nice Girl, the warm Feeling is back and i hope this won't stop soon .. ;)

During the Year i had the Honour and Pleasure to meet some really awesome People - although it's only via the World Wide Web, i still like to call them my Friends, who share the same Interests and Passions, Names like Stephan Constantinescu, Ricky Cadden, Steve Litchfield, Rita El Khoury, Norman John, Greg from Symbianfrance and a Lot of other People .. Thank you Guys so much, for whatever you done, even if it's only reading my Posts!

Also 2007 boosted my Music Life. Some of you might know it, some of you don't, but i'm a huge Punkrock Fan since i was 13 Years old. Music is one of my big Passions, and the Music goes with me the whole Day. I need Music like the Air that i breathe. I had the Fun of meeting a few of my favourite Bands, no Matter if it was via Internet or on Concerts! I had great Fun having a few Beers with them and i'm looking forward to some new upcoming CDs in 2008! Thanks Guys :)

Last but not least, Thank you: Donna, Frank, Mike, Lucy, Richard and all the Guys behind WOM World. Thanks for supporting me, for covering me and help me whenever you can. And of course Thanks for sending me Trial Devices over and over again. And not only Trial Devices, cool Gifts like the Virtual Event Poster, or the N95 Health Warning Stuff .. Thank you very much!
