I have the Nokia N95 now for exactly 1 Week, when i made the Switch from N76 to N95 again! So far i must say, that featurewise i'm pretty satisfied with what the N95 offers me. I've downloaded the Maps for Austria this Weekend and made a 3h Trip just with the N95 and had no single Problem, no wrong Turns or anything. Also the Cam speaks for itself, i can't compare a 5 MP Carl Zeiss Cam with a 2 MP Cam (which is pretty bad Quality by the Way). And you all know the great double Slider System, another great Innovation ..
But after 1 Week with Nokia's Multimedia Beast, i've noticed a few Things, that quite pissed me off so to say and i'm gonna give you a little Overview it:
So is it worth to switch from N76 to N95? If you're a Poweruser who wants to combine a good Camera, Mp3 Player Functionality and Navigation on your Phone: Yes of course! It IS the Beast, no doubt about that .. But if you're a "Average" User and think about the Price too, you might have a Look on the Points above .. The N76 is no technical Highlight, but it's a good, solid Phone (with Negatives too) with great Form Factor and huge RAM Amount .. I hope you don't get this Post as a "Forget about N95, better get N76"-Statement - i love the N95 and his huge Possibilities, but Nokia could have done better Work on it for that Price ..

I've just received a Mail from a Reader, asking me how to get Maps on the Nokia N95! It's quite simple, so i decided to put up a little Step by Step Guide using Nokia's Maploader! Alright, here we go:
1. Get Nokia Maploader!
The first Step is easy: Simply download the Nokia Maploader (5.32 MB) for the Nokia N95 from here: http://www.nokia.com/A4353385
Install the Application - Done!
2. Connect the Phone!
Next Step: Connect your Phone to your PC/Laptop via USB Cable and select Mass Storage on your Phone!Alternatively you can put your Memory Card in your Card Reader - this works fine as well!
3. Working with Maploader
That's it, simple but effective! :) ... You don't have to install anything on the Phone, once you have the "Installation successfull" Box, the Map is ready to use! DONE!

Communication in the 21st Century - this is the Title of one of the most impressive Review's i've seen so far .. My good Friend Jollemi from EliteBastards and other different Forums has finished his Nokia E90 Report! 12 Pages covering every Part of the Phone, Tons of Pictures and Videos and a critical Conclusion, which i was expecting after some MSN Chat's with him ;)
"The E90 retails for around 800 - 850 € at the moment over here, so is it worth it? Depends. The features are great, but they could be better implemented and some lack of features are just inexcusable for a device in this price range. Try it out and then compare the general feeling you get from it to the price tag and make your choice. There is no simple yes or no answer to this question, unfortunately. I do not feel that the money I spent on it was spent in vain, but I do know people who do think like that. So think about what you need and what you want, and then try out the E90. Next, look at the price tag and make a more educated decision as to whether you really need it or not."
Really nice Job done Anssi!!

Now that's something unexpected. I'm a monthly Reader from the German Connect Magazine, one of Europes biggest Magazine for Telecommunications! Like in every Issue Connect is posting a huge Best-Of List including all Phones, all Brands, all Devices .. And surprisingly for me, the Nokia 6290 has hit this Top List, blasting on the 2nd Rank as new Entry, forcing the N95 to get back on the 3rd Rank.
Connect also has written a short Review about this Device: They like the Fact that the 6290 features miniUSB and a 2,5mm Audio Jack again, faster Processor which gives a noticable faster OS, big enough Buttons, Stereo Speakers with good solid Sound and a strong Hardware Quality. On the other Hand they're not so satisfied with only 45 MB internal Memory, a very loose Battery Cover and a 2 MP only Cam.
I think the 6290 will be a good over-all Symbian Phone for all People who want to have a strong, solid Phone with all the Advantages of our beloved Symbian S60 OS. What i like too is the external Display again, like on the N76! I think i'm gonna lay my Hands on one of those Devices soon .. ;)

Yes it's done, i just deleted the german Section of the NOKIAN Blog .. It was just too much work to translate everything and write all again, it costed so much Time, so much Motivation was gone .. i'm sorry .. There will be a Translation Tool soon (i have something like Babelfish in my Mind), you will see it in the next few Days! :)

The Time has been quite short for me .. I had the N76 only 1 1/2 Weeks now, but tried to work with it the Most i possibly could. The Deal is this: A good Friend has a Contract on T-Mobile Germany which needed to be renewed.. He really wanted the Nokia N76, cause it has a nice Screen and even nicer big Buttons, which suit just fine to his large male Thumbs. Problem is, that T-Mobile Germany doesn't have the N76 in it's Assortment so far. Now we talked about how satisfied i was with the N76, so he suggested to give me a brand new Nokia N95 which he will get from the Contract and trade it for my N76 WITHOUT EXTRA PAYMENTS!! Only Thing he wanted to have, is a 2 GB Micro SD, which is actually a please to buy .. I mean, come on .. a BRAND NEW Nokia N95 for just 340 €!! I just had to do it .. ;)
Anyway .. it has been a great Time with the N76 and this is what i think of it..
N76's YEAHs:
It's nice to have 10 Applications opened and still have the same RAM Amount like on the N95 :D
As you can see the Nokia N76 impresses me in a lot of Ways, most of all the Form Factor and Functionality of the External Display! I mean there are no extremely innovative Features, no HSDPA, no built in GPS, of course the Screen could have been bigger, but hey .. the N76 isn't supposed to be a Hi-Tech Powerhouse like the N95 and therefore the Price is also okay! But you know me Guys, i'm easy to impress but i'm critical too and so in the Short Amount of Time i've found some Bad Points as well, which i'm gonna point out now:
N76's BOOOHs:
The Phone is already away and most of the Stuff i've written from my Memories. I had it only for 1 1/2 Weeks, i think too less Time to write a complete Review, but my Main Goal wasn't to set up a full Review, i just wanted to point out the Pro's and Con's.
Conclusion:
The Nokia N76 is a slim, stylish Smartphone for People who want to have full Smartphone Functionality on a stylish Device, not a Brick like the N93 (Don't get me wrong, those Phones have completely different Features). This Phone has no mind-blowing new Features, no GPS, no 5 MP Camera, but it sure has it's Charms, i can't deny that. What i'm most impressed off, is the External Display, which gives you the Ability to read your Text Messages, Missed Calls etc. Also the RAM Situation is incomparably better than on the N95, more than 45 MB free RAM after Startup is a clear Point for the N76! But on the other Hand, don't forget to keep some Polish Tools in your Pocket, when you have it, cause Fingerprints will be your best Friends, also i'm not really impressed about the bad SIM Card Holder ..
But to be short, i really like the N76, it's a stylish Alternative, a good Allrounder, i'd call it the Flip-N70 - i'm looking forward to get it in my Hands once again!!
