One of the Things i was most excited about, when i received my lovely N95 8GB for trialing, was the new Multimedia Menu! And it did NOT disappoint me. I did some Research already before, it looked so promising, i couldn't wait to try it out ..
It's already funny and really usefull on the N95 8GB, i'd really like to see it on that Navi-Wheel on the N81, must be great to use ..
So you're curious, what you are capable to do with the new MM? Read on!
Hit the Multimedia Button and here we go, the new and improved Multimedia Menu! It's ordered in "Cards", which move animated to the Left or Right.
1. Contacts:
First Card on my List are the Contacts. You can choose your favourite 5 Contacts who you call or write often, and put them in the List. As you can see, you can even insert Images of your Contacts, like you have them in your Contacts Menu.
A pretty easy and entertaining Way to make some Shortcuts, isn't it?
2. Music:
Yes Music is important .. The 2nd Card let's you quickly access to the Music Menu.. Current Title, Music Library, Podcasts or Playlists .. It's all there! As you can see, the Current Title even features Album Art!
3. Gallery:
What an awesome Move. This Card gives you a small Preview of the last Camera Shot. How cool is that? In The Gallery Menu you can also find Access to Slide Shows and self-made Albums. Another nice Feature in my Opinion ..
4. Games:
Gaming is the main Topic in this Card. I couldn't do much yet, as N-Gage is not working yet for me. But it will feature your Games in the Future, just like the current N-Gage Menu!
5. Web/Internet:
The last Card, entitled "Internet", features your defined Startpage plus 4 Bookmarks of your choosen.
The whole Multimedia Menu is nicely animated, every Input comes with a nice, flashy Animation - i like that! ;) All the Cards can be sorted in the Order you want it, which is another good Move from Nokia. Overall i think the new Multimedia Menu is an awesome Addition to an awesome Phone. What i miss a bit, is a 6th Card which shows you Previews of the 5 latest SMS Messages you received. I still miss the Inbox Preview in the active Standby, like on the E-Series. Or maybe the next 5 upcoming Calendar Events? I love the new Multimedia Menu, but why not give it a few more Cards? ;)
Well, honestly I neither love nor hate the MM. I do not use it. I dont see any sense in it.
